Ringing in the New Year!!!
The holidays have come and gone but signs of winter are still very much present. I think we are reaching a high of 16 today. Shane has even begun to experience the term "cabin fever", but at least he gets his daily rounds of therapists to distract him from his boredom. Here are some pictures of our annual New Years dinner party. Newcomers this year were Tejas, Nikki & Will's sister Laura. They all adapted well to the chaos in the kitchen and dinner was a big hit, as usual.

Tis the season...
Christmas already? Time is slipping by! We did have our very first blizzard (sort of) today. Snow never really lasts very long here in the city. We took Shane out thinking he would be just as excited to feel the white snowflakes as I was, but realized between screams that he hated those wet things landing on his face. Oh well. Maybe when he is old enough to play in them, he'll change his mind.
Shane has been making tons of great progress lately. Finally eating most adult foods. This has been quite a struggle as he is a very textural eater and would only eat all things pureed up until about 3 weeks ago. He has graduated to such things as filet mignon, veal, beets, brussel sprouts, chicken, canned fruits in syrup. One of his top faves seems to be cottage cheese!!! That is what helped him get over his fear of "chunk". And avocado and scrambled eggs are right up there too. He is also rolling a great deal more and seems to finally understand if he wants something badly enough he needs to find a way to get it. Also spent many minutes on hands on knees in the crawl mode for the very first time this week in therapy sessions. Lot's to celebrate this year!!
